Welcome to Things I Love Thursday, 14 January 2010 edition! I’ve had a pretty positive week actually, but here are just a few things that made me smile.
Incorporating new healthy behaviours into my lifestyle. I started this week with adding a cup of green tea into my afternoons at work and swimming once a week. I was shocked at just how hard swimming was (mind you it was the first time I’d been in years) – the breathing and use of muscle groups was much different to any other form of exercise I’ve done.
Ms & Mrs Emergency Kits. I found these while trawling the web recently. I am definitely in need of one of these as I am not a good girl scout anymore. Be prepared!
My new swimsuit. It arrived at work this morning all wrapped up beautifully by the team at Zimmermann. Very excited to get in the pool and use it tomorrow after work. Yes, most people go out to drink and party the night away on a Friday night – not I, for I am a serious nanna at the old age of 24!
This blog post. What You Need to Know Before Starting a New Habit from Goodlife Zen.
Coldrock Icecream. Oh. My. God. This stuff is amazing. You choose a base icecream (I went with English Toffee) and then you choose a mixture of lollies, chocolate, fruit or nuts to mash and mix in with it. It sounds bizarre (it’s an Aussie thing) but it is delicious. I had a mix of Milky Way, Bounty and rasberries. YUM.
My little sister. We had her and her boyfriend staying with us for a week and I loved every second of it. We have so much fun together and I wish she would damn well just move over here!
2010 opportunities. There are a few on the horizon that I am getting excited about, and as pieces of the puzzle fit together I’m sure I’ll let more info slip!
Tony Starr’s Kitten Club. Took a friend visiting from Wellington there on Friday night and indulged in thei delicious cocktails. I held the Escapade launch party there last year and it’s a fabulous venue.
Having the house to ourselves. As much as I love visitors, last night was just the two of us and I forgot how much I love that too.
Being called The Fairy Queen by a workmate of mine when wearing a sparkly Joolz hairclip. Then having him seem very disappointed when I wasn’t wearing sequins in my hair the following day. *chuckles*
Winning money. Okay firstly, I am not an advocate of gambling at all. BUT I have won a total of $83 on pokies machines in the last fortnight. Once at an RSL with my mum and once with my sister at Crown Casino. I never use those things, but I am pretty chuffed that when I did, I won! 2010 is definitely going to be my year.
I’m also loving: homemade pizzas, surviving the Melbourne heatwave, sending the first of my handwritten letters for 2010, when my boyfriend laughs so hard he cries, honey roasted peanuts and ribbons.
What have you loved this week? C’mon let me know! : )
