Here are some of my ideas:
TWO MINUTES TO SPARE:
♥ Step away and breathe. Remove yourself from the stressful situation, just for a few moments to concentrate on simply inhaling and exhaling. Clear your mind and then get back to it.
FIVE MINUTES TO SPARE:
♥ Laugh. Read an old email that a friend sent you, joke with a colleague or cast your mind back to a time when you couldn’t stop giggling. Laughter is the best medicine!
TEN MINUTES TO SPARE:
♥ Escape. Close your eyes and imagine yourself somewhere else, somewhere peaceful. A beach in Fiji, sipping on a coffee in a small cafe on the coast of France, preparing for a siesta in Spain, reading a great book on your couch – anywhere that makes you smile.
FIFTEEN MINUTES TO SPARE:
♥ Talk. Vent to someone and ask them if they have any suggestions on how you could deal with tasks/issues more effectively or efficiently. Don’t be afraid to ask for help in order to keep your sanity.
AFTER THE STORM:
♥ Indulge. Eat your favourite meal (perhaps with a glass of wine, my fave being pinot noir), watch your favourite movie and snuggle up under the duvet. You deserve it.
♥ Regenerate. Go to a yoga or Pilates class to stretch, breathe and release the day’s tension.
♥ Exercise. Run, skip, ice skate, bowl the stress away. Add friends. Perfect.
♥ Party. Organise a stress free impromptu dinner party with your best mates. Ask your friends to all bring a dish for a pot luck dinner. Then bribe them to assist with the dishes with dessert. Spending time with people that make you laugh and will let you vent about your day is always fab.
